We supported Environs Kimberley through a Regional New Industries Fund grant to strategise how to support social enterprises throughout the Kimberley in a way that wasn’t reliant on fly-in fly-out consultancy support. We initially employed a shared project manager on the ground in the Kimberley for approximately six months, and we continued to work with EK to further build on the model of capacity development being led locally through workshops and direct engagement.  This was the subject of a proposal to take this resource forward and EK was successful in a $300K grant to Lotterywest to establish a Broome-based Social Enterprise Development Manager over the next two years.
